Your Edyn Device needs a strong wifi signal to operate properly. If your Edyn Device goes inactive, tapping the sync button on the device will force it to reconnect to wifi. You do not need to delete and reinstall it via the app. Wifi signal strength in the garden can be improved several ways:
1) Move the router and the Edyn device closer together. Wifi signal decreases exponentially with distance, so moving your device even a few feet closer to the router can have a significant effect.
2) Remove obstructions between the router and Edyn device. Large, dense objects inhibit wifi signal strength. By removing them from the path between your router and Edyn device, you can improve the signal significantly.
3) Ensure your router is set to operate in 2.4 Ghz mode (not 5 Ghz or dual-band mode). Many newer routers allow you to split the 2.4 ghz and 5ghz networks into unique wifi networks (with distinct SSIDs). Please consult your wifi router's documentation to adjust these settings.
4) Deploy a wifi repeater/extender. Wifi repeaters boost the signal from your main router. By deploying one in the garden, you can improve your wifi signal strength and enjoy wifi throughout your garden. Many of our users have reported good success with the following Netgear router:
